Church
Ministry Assistant (Full-time)
(All duties to be performed under the
authority and direction of the Minister of Education/Outreach)
Statement of Purpose:
The Church Ministry Assistant provides administrative
support to the church staff in the fulfillment of their assigned duties and to
the ongoing ministries of the church.
Qualifications:
1.
Must
be a sincere Christian who is called by God and is totally dedicated to the
Lord's mission.
2.
Must
possess excellent organization, communication and team building skills.
3.
Must
have relevant secretarial experience.
4.
Must
be literate with computers and relevant word processing and presentation
software.
5.
Must
possess either a two-year degree from an accredited college or university or have
a minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
Church
Ministry Assistant Duties:
·
Perform
duties of a receptionist, including greeting and assisting the
public/membership in person,
answering the telephone, and taking messages for the church staff.
·
Maintain log and duplicate worship
service DVD's and other CD's as needed.
·
Write and publish informational
materials for member use. These publications include worship bulletins, church
newsletters, prayer lists, and Church website, etc.
·
Make
copies and other workroom functions for church members as needed.
·
Construct electronic presentations for
services. These presentations include music and announcement screens for
services.
·
Maintain Wednesday night supper list.
·
Update Prayer Room with current prayer
requests.
·
Maintain the church calendar and
schedule special events.
·
Prepare new member packets and update
new member bulletin boards.
·
Update list of recipients of the
Baptist Courier.
·
Organize and maintain Sanctuary pew
supplies.
·
Work with the Minister of
Education/Outreach in the ordering of Sunday School and Education literature.
·
Perform duties under direction of
Minister of Music that include, but not limited to: print and copy necessary
music and materials for the music ministry; place orders for music and
materials, maintain proper records for the music library.
·
Assist staff members in composing
outgoing correspondence.
·
Secure building as
needed.
- Attend
weekly staff meetings.
- Inventory
and replenish office supplies.
- Serve
as secretary of the church council.
- Work
cooperatively with staff members and work as a team player in the total
ministry of Seneca Baptist Church.
- Serve as back-up to the Senior Pastor/Financial
Secretary.
- Perform
other duties as assigned by the Minister of Education/Outreach.
