What is Church Membership?

The Bible teaches that every person who trusts Jesus as Savior and Lord is saved from sin, from God’s wrath, from death. That’s the good news of the Gospel. Jesus died to save us from many things. But Jesus also saved us into God’s family through adoption and Jesus saved us into the Body of Christ. God made us His beloved children (Galatians 4:4) and has given us gifts to be an indispensable part of His church and mission moving forward (1 Corinthians 12:7). The church is a part of God’s divine plan for our good and is central to His mission to make disciples of all nations.

Jesus said “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18). And at Seneca Baptist we believe church membership matters so much that Jesus would die to bring us into it. So, if you feel God is leading you to join our congregation, we are thankful God is building His church, not ours.
