How to Be Saved?

The Bible teaches that humanity was created in God’s image (Genesis 1:26) to know, love, and serve God. Early in the Bible, mankind rebelled against God and that wonderful relationship with God was broken. Adam and Eve were separated from God due to their sinful nature. The Bible teaches that since that time, all people have inherited this sinful nature, have sinned against God (Romans 5:12), and are separated from God (Isaiah 59:2).Since God is holy, good, and just, our sin must be punished. Although we can try to be good, we can never be good enough (Romans 2:11-12) to restore that broken relationship or pay off our sin debt.

But since God is also merciful and gracious AND He desperately loves sinful man, God made a way for our sin to be punished, our debt to be paid, and to restore the broken relationship to bring us back to God.
God sent His own Son Jesus (John 3:16-17) to live the live that we were supposed to live and die the death that we deserved to die (1 Peter 2:22,24). On the cross, Jesus took our sin and offers to all who trust in Him that we might receive forgiveness and be granted His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
On the third day Jesus rose from the dead proving that Jesus paid our debt and the payment was accepted. He was raised, securing new and eternal life for those who would trust in His finished work.

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 5:8 – “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 6:23 – “The wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 10:9 – “For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

If you will:
ADMIT to God that you are a sinner who is separated from God and you need a Savior.
BELIEVE that God sent Jesus to live a perfect life, die a sinners death, and Jesus was raised from the dead; and trust that Jesus did that for you so you might be forgiven and saved.
CONFESS Jesus as your Lord. Surrender your life and desires to Him. Commit to live for Him and His purposes as we know them in the Bible.
Then, you will be saved.
